- Description
In his Nicomachean Ethics, Aristotle divided justice into two forms: distributive justice — the proportional (geometric) allocation of honour, wealth and public office among citizens according to merit; and corrective justice — which restores the arithmetic balance disturbed by a wrong, whether in voluntary dealings like contracts or involuntary ones like crimes.
